IFEAT was founded in 1977 to counteract
unfavourable trading practices experienced by the industry
at the time. Over the past twenty years IFEAT has grown in
membership numbers, breadth of member interests and
activities. The federation has a truly worldwide membership
of companies involved in all aspects of essential oil
production, extraction, distribution, brokerage, information
supply and the use of essential oils. IFEAT is committed to
improving the worldwide climate for trade issues in
essential oils and has organised over 11 successful
conferences and meetings in the past 15 years providing an
unequalled forum for the discussion of current issues
affecting the industry. Amongst the benefits of membership,
IFEAT Members receive generous discounts in the registration
fees to annual conferences. IFEAT is an organisation
committed to training and education and runs an
international distance learning course, the IFEAT Diploma in
